the
boys at El Arryo in Austin, TX
One of The
Sound of URCHIN's main reasons for being a band is their
love for fine food. The complex personalities that make
up The Sound of URCHIN come together as one solid unit
when they are sitting around a table, menus in hand, and
getting ready to enjoy a warm, hearty meal on the road.
We, here at Steven, thought it would be a good idea to
document URCHIN's favorite places to eat when they hit
that town. The prerequisites for a restaurant being on
this list is:
a) all of the band members must
eat at that restaurant
b) all of the band members have enjoyed their meal
beyond normal eating satisfaction
c) B-ILL must put his final stamp of approval!!!!
We hope you enjoy this ever-growing
Zagat-like list of fine eating establishments, and when
you are in these towns make sure to visit these
URCHIN-APPROVED, B-ILL SEALED, restaurants. And when
URCHIN visits your town, make sure to direct them to your
finest of dining!!!!!
(please note that this list is
in no particular order and only includes the best)
DP Dough, Ithaca NY - Gourmet
"calzone-only" establishment, open all
hours and featuring the most delicious,
slamminest, innovative experimental calzone
creations.
Old Devil Moon, 12th St bet.
A&B, East Village, NYC - Dennis D's
incredible home southern cooking featuring
unbelievable tasting pies for dessert.
Texas Bar-B-Que Corral, near
Cumby, TX - Husband & wife kitchen
with the tastiest meat in the world and the best
home made BBQ sauce. Also offering FedEx service.
El Arryo, downtown Austin,
TX - Tex-Mex Perfection, featuring
appetizer taste-teasers that will have you full
before you get a chance to enjoy the serious
burritos & enchiladas.
H.I. Rib Company,
Lambertville, NJ - We call this shit the
"High Intensity Rib Co." because of the
serious quality of Ribification that is offered
here. If you are in South Jersey, find this
joint. They also have this "appetizer"
called an Onion Ring Loaf. This thing will grind
out your inerds. It is basically like hundreds of
thin onion rings fried a second or maybe third
time and then mashed together and sculpted into
like the Close Encounters tower thingy and then
fried again to ensure proper form. then they give
you a steak knife and four plates. It is like an
onion ring birthday cake or edible onion ring
art. It is fuckin' sick and sickening. but we
couldn't get enough.
